My daughter got this as a gift 3 years ago. The plastic and the Velcro has survived baby chewing and hours of pretend play. The pieces are all over the house because she still likes to make ice cream and hand them out to toys and family members. This is high-quality plastic and in our experience the Velcro never comes off. All the pieces (the ones I can still find) are in the same condition they were when new.

The kids have a great time with the ice cream. They love to make their ice cream cones, to see how many scoops they can get. A little trouble sharing the ice cream scoops. We got 2 sets and still need more for this bunch of grandkids (5).

My three year old granddaughter has played with these every day since they arrived. She is really enjoying pretending to make us ice cream. Her little brother enjoys them also. So far, they have held up well to there play. Both are very active and never play with anything very long so have enjoyed seeing how long she plays with these. (It's probably not as long as other children with longer attention spans but long for her). Grandson is still in the "put everything you touch in the mounth" stage and so far holding up well-no teeth marks yet.

My daughter is four years old and she really likes the concept, but.. She got this as a Christmas gift and she is having a difficult time scooping the ice cream. She gets really frustrated that she cannot scoop it easily after trying numerous times. She has played with a similar toy that belongs to someone else and loved it, but it is magnetic.
I just ordered the magnetic version.

These things are made of pretty durable and heavy-duty plastic, and the velcro sticks tightly. My son loves to say "scooop!" and spends endless minutes stacking up the ice cream pieces on the cones, then making "om nom nom" noises while pretending to eat them.
Well made, educational, high quality toy!
