Great little raincoat!Aug 28, 2010

I purchased this raincoat and the matching umbrella for my 2 year old. It's super cute and I'm happy with it. I like the way it zippers as opposed to snapping, although I'm not sure how well that would work for a child who has to put it on themselves like at school, but my daughter is too young for that so it's not a concern of mine. My daughter is rather tall for her age, so the fit is fine. It's a little long on her arms but I think it's okay and it's good she will have room to grow into. The size is 3-6 and the length was pretty good on my daughter, so it might be a tad short for a 5 or 6 year old. In any case, I thought the price was right and it was cute. I really thought the hoodie part was nice with the flap and an elasticized hood to keep the rain out. It seems like it's nice and durable quality, not cheapie thin poncho material. I would recommend definitely.

I bought this for my 3 year old twin girls, we live in Hawaii and I really wanted a good quality raincoat without lining. The material is great, and I think it will hold up really great without tears because it is thick enough. It is not flimsy and thin like some other raincoats without lining, you get a great quality product for cheap, you can't beat that.
The girls love the fun print and couldn't wait to try it out in the rain. I'm going to get the matching boots to go with it to complete the look. My girls are tall and the coat hits them mid calf and I have to roll up their sleeves, so they will probably be able to wear this for a couple more years at least.
One thing I wish it had was a quick detachable hood for child safety, but since it is not standard here in the US I can't take of any stars for that.

The Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Raincoat is very cute. My daughter has the matching rainboots as well. We have only worn the coat a few times, so I don't know how durable it will be over the long haul, but these vinyl type jackets tend to do very well. It will be great in the warmer seasons, but it can easily be worn over heavier layers when it's cold. The jacket is quite large on my daughter. She is 3, and this jacket will fit her for the next 3 yrs! It falls below the knee, and we roll the sleeves. Despite the size, the jacket still manages to look cute! As a mother of 3, I'm happy to purchase items that can be used for multiple seasons. The sizing is odd, but we have always had great luck with Melissa & Doug products.

I bought this for my 3-year-old daughter, who wears sizes 4-5T. The coat fits her perfectly; the sleeves are a little long but it's not a problem. I figure it should last her about another year. The coat has no lining though, it's just vinyl, so she'll have to wear a sweater or something underneath. All in all, great value for the price.

My daughter loves her new raincoat, rain boots and matching "rainbrella" very pleased. They are roomy on her. My daughter is very petite for 3 years old (still wearing mostly 2T, some 24 months) i just rolled up the sleeves a bit and voila I have rain coat that will last through next spring and longer! I have yet to be disappointed in products from Melissa and Doug. The arm pit holes are very clever and allow the coat to be breathable. The material is hardy and can take a beating, which with my girl is an absolute necessity, unlike some coats in the price range which were flimsy by comparison. I just adore the whole outfit! It's fun, it's colorful and it's functional. What more could a mother ask for?
