I must've not been paying too much attention when ordering this tote, but it is a lot smaller than I had imagined. I gave this tote as part of a Christmas gift for my nephew, and was disappointed at how small this tote really is. It can comfortably hold an 8.5x11 coloring book with crayons, and a few small toys in it. However, the top does not zipper up, and it is easy for items to fall out of the bag, particularly if a young child is carrying it. Also, the strap is not long enough for the child to carry over his/her shoulder comfortably - it can be carried by the child like a briefcase.
If you're looking for a bag that your toddler can carry on his/her own, you're probably better off getting a toddler sized backpack. $10 for a tiny bag like this is just not really worth it. Not recommended.

I bought this tote for my little boy who was envious that his sister and cousins had purses to put all their toys in, this tote is sturdy, easy to carry for him and over all quite good quality.
