This was my favorite toy - for about ten minutes. I got it out of the packaging, inserted batteries, and let it shock me. I was surprised by the strength of the shock. I reset it and threw it to a friend, and hot potato began. We threw it around and had some great laughs, but then a friend dropped it. I was not concerned at all, because the product description said it was durable and drop resistant due to the rubber surrounding the ball. It was dropped from standing height ONCE and is now completely broken. I tried contacting Amazon twice, and so far I have gotten no reply. I have tried replacing batteries, holding down the power button - everything. Nothing can fix this ball. :( It was a blast, but was very short lived. I ended up paying a total price of 15-$ and the shipping was prompt, but it is just not worth it for me. 2/5. :(

I gave this to my brother for Christmas (He is a thirty-something kid). The teenagers and adults, I wouldn't recommend this for kids under 10, had a "ball" with this. They played hot potato with it for hours. Squealing and screaming with delight, as people arrived they were greeted by "Do you (OUCH) wanna OUCH) play?" LOL
The reason I only gave it 4 stars is, I think it is poorly constructed. It is made out of hard plastic and with the way that thing is thrown after someone is shocked, I do not think it will hold up long. It already had a small crack in the plastic after one night. I think they could have made it out of rubber (being that the metal shock pads are what shock you and not the plastic) so it could hold up to being dropped. I would have paid more money for a sturdier ball.

This is a fun toy, I got it a couple of months ago and it has been fun, I take it to parties and gathering and is always the center of attention, however you must be careful with this ball, don't drop it from too high or it will break... we play with it sitting (on chairs and sofas) on a circle and so far it has proof durable. (just make sure to put some long pant when you use it... or it will really shock you up, girls tent to just throw it to your lap without regarding the aftermath).
I'm 28 and I love it, we use it in some drinking games and it has been really fun too

The premise is good. This would be a fun item if it hadn't broken after the first drop. Now the lights still come on as if it were emitting a shock, but there is no more shock value to it. The only shock is the price I paid for 10 minutes of fun. As another reviewer mentioned, poor construction.

I know and understand that this toy isn't exactly intended for kids, but I purchased this for my 13 year old for Christmas, thinking she would really like it. I honestly didn't expect the younger kids to play with it for fear of being shocked. But, they sat in the floor and passed it around and every time one of them got shocked, they laughed like crazy! I had a blast watching them play with it! And you know when the shock is activated because the ball has a light that blinks when it hits.
The shock isn't strong...I would equate it to scooting your feet across the carpet and touching someone. It's noticeable but not painful at all. It's just surprising. My daughter held it in her hand and let it keep shocking her because it wasn't that intense.
The durability of it isn't all the great. I suggested my kids sit on the floor and toss it low to the ground, just so it wouldn't get dropped from too high up as it felt as though the plastic was sort of cheap and it may break easily.
It may be a good party game for adults too, but my kids are strange and like stuff like this.
