Awesome, great value for the money!Dec 06, 2007
By Good Mom We own a ton of Playmobil and I have to say, by far, this is the best value for the money. The castle is great, the details are great, it comes with tons of add-ons and it folds up for storage. Great design, great toy!

Hours of imaginative fun for 5 yr old son!Jan 07, 2008

My 5 year old son received this as a gift for Christmas and hasn't stopped playing with it!
We love playmobil! Well, I should say that my son loves playing with playmobil figures because of all the small pieces that he can interchange - and we love that he can entertain himself for a long time. However, the infinite tiny pieces also drive us crazy, especially if we can't find one! Kids remember every little piece and when one turns up missing, it is cause for a meltdown.
Anyway, this castle has all the great features of the larger (and WAY more expensive) castles that playmobil makes, including the "break-through" wall, the drawbridge and the prison cells. But, what's great about this is that the whole thing closes up and can be put on a shelf, out of the way.
One thing that has been a pain about this castle though (as another reviewer mentioned) is that the hinges on the corners don't have a very tight fit and snap off very easily every time you open or close the castle. This is really a pain and is frustrating for my son who doesn't really have the strength in his little fingers to push them back into place. But, he has come to accept it and still loves this thing. He has come up with a ton of different configurations and "scenarios" which is just great for the imagination!
If your child loves playmobil or knights, this is definitely worth the money!

Attack the CastleJan 14, 2008
By D. Welsh This was an overall good product. My only complaint was that the two sections of the wall attach with these little hinges that snap into place. My son repeatedly brought it to my attention that walls had become detached. I soon glued the hinges in place and have not had any problems since then. It is still an excellent toy for anyone into castles. I especially like the drawbridge and break away wall.

Good olde Fashioned Fun in a Toy!Aug 16, 2010
By Vincenzo L. Falcone While it's true that the castle occasionally comes apart at the main seem, it is teaching my son patience... in addition to encouraging imaginative play. He used to get exasperated when it would split in half but now he just puts it back together and keeps playing. The clips that cause it to come apart are precisely what keep the castle from actually BREAKING - no part of this toy has broken or beendamaged after a year of solid play. Right now, he has the knights lined up in and on the castle and they are fighting off some Barbarians. This toy has been HOURS of fun as well as a tool for a few life lessons ;)
On a side note, as a 38 year old man, I must admit to enjoying this toy as much as my son. The pieces are easy to assemble, fun to utilize, and it packs up nicely. Shhhh... when I am alone, I sometimes set thecastle up, and put everyone in battle positions and wait for my son to come out and take over the fighting for dear olde dad. Great Fun this toy is!

Super value for someone not wanting to spend the $$$$ on the standard Playmobil CastleJan 05, 2010
By Isabella E. Bertelli My son just turned three and used some of his Birthday money to buy this castle. He LOVES it. Great for pretend play and even has some historical and lit. lessons you can create for the older child. The portability is great and it folds up so nice that it hardly takes up any floor space (which is great living in a condo). I was a little disappointed that it is made in China, but Playmobil rep told me that they make it there from materials that were shiped from Germany. The characters are actually shiped whole there from Malta. The Playmobil factory in China is owned, operated, and manages only by Playmobil peps. so it is simply a matter of location and not safety standards. GREAT!!!.
The castle has a draw bridge, a break down wall, and two jails to put your captured knights on the inside. There are flags and torches to decorate the outside and has some men, a horse, an a catipult(sp?). A nice start or completion in our case, to a nice knight adventure set. We have the "Kings" knights for out good guys.
We have had this for about three weeks and have not had any of the issues with it not staying together as some have stated. Maybe they got duds. My son playes and travels with this constantly, so we have had our changes for it to come appart and it has not in any way. I would not hesitate buying more "take along" items after owning this and falling in love. The set cost about 1/4 of the regular castle too, so that puts a smile on my face.
There are a few small pieces, so if you have a younger child or a mouther, you should keep that in mind and remove the parts.
