my 2.5yo's favorite this christmasDec 18, 2010
By K. Francois My 2.5 year old LOVES these scissors and her 4.5 year old brother is trying ever trick he can come up with to "share" them with her. They have a very intuitive design-- she was making confetti out of the wrapping paper as soon as the package was opened. I'm also going to order a pair for my grandma with arthritis as I think they may be easier on her fingers than traditional scissors.

First ScissorsAug 08, 2011
By booksredlion My son is developmentally delayed so traditional scissors just don't work for him. But now he can cut right along side his big brother and sister and feel like a big boy! I am also a Kindergarten Teacher by trade and these would be wonderful in any classroom for children who just don't have the muscle strength to cut with regular scissors! These are awesome!

Craft Room BlissNov 24, 2011
By Book Lover 12 My 19 month old LOVES cutting with these scissors! He can hold the piece of paper with one hand, and still cut with the scissors with the other. Two nights after he got them, he was cutting all by himself, and started figuring out how to cut into smaller pieces, rather than just making cuts into the paper. Brilliant!!
I do still watch him carefully to make sure he doesn't get his fingers in the way--they don't seem sharp enough to do damage when I put them between my fingers, but they do have a metal blade and cut VERY well so I imagine that it might be possible to get a boo-boo with them. I think we'll have a better sense of this here within a couple of weeks.
Very happy with the purchase though! He is obsessed with scissors and was using my decorative craft scissors, which was fine except I had to hold the paper. It's nice for him to be able to start learning how to avoid getting his fingers in cutting range. The only real negative thing I see about these yet is that he can't walk with them "properly" for scissors (i.e. closed, with blade down, and hand over cutting surface), but we still practice that with the decorative craft scissors.

Perfect for little handsNov 15, 2011
By E. Glover I use scissors a lot, and my 2 year old was constantly crying to use them. These were the best solution ever. At first, he would bend the paper instead of cutting when pressing down, but he quickly got the hang of it and now cuts just fine. We're now able to enjoy crafting together a whole lot more.

Helps my preschoolers learn to hold scissors the right wayNov 14, 2011
By J. Havran I have two kids under 5. Both of them tend to hold the regular scissors with two hands to cut. These are easy for them to hold and learn the correct way to grip scissors. Because of the metal blade they cut well, too, unlike many safety scissors. I really recommend these.
