Original Baking Powder SubmarineMar 02, 2009
By Jim K. This little toy reminds me of the toy sub I had as a kid. I played with it in a large bowl of water untill I spilt it all over the floor. Then my mother took it away and I never saw it again. This toy sub is very well made of hard plastic with a soft plastic periscope plug on top to keep the Baking Powder inside. I took it for a test dive and it worked very well. Diving, surfacing then "burping" bubbles before diving again. It kept going for quite some time using hardly any of the Baking Powder. The only thing going against this toy is the price which I found rather high. But it is made in the USA in a very simple and durable fashion. A big plus.

This submarine was nothing more than a freebee out of a cereal box that cost nearly $5.00. The antennae broke off the first day in trying to remove the top to place the baking soda in it. Our grandson enjoys it, but we are disappointed in the quality vs price.

Great Toy!Jun 18, 2011
By E. Kennedy This is a very fun water toy! It will get kids wondering how it works and allows for a great impromptu science lesson! Just fill it with baking soda, set it in the water, and watch it go!

great fun for young and oldNov 06, 2011
By R. Prine I remember getting one like this back in the 50s for 25 cents and a couple of box tops. My lady friends three year-year-old loved it. something for the little ones to really enjoy it.
Dollar store quality, but funJan 13, 2012

"Always wordy, rarely wrong? ;)"
I bought this for my kid at heart hubby. He had fun with it, once. But it's really just a super cheap little diversion, not something i'd give an actual kid for multiple use fun. If you follow the instructions and hold your tongue just right, it does work as advertised. I just get chapped at paying 4X more than a product is worth. It would be an ideal party favor or stocking stuffer if they'd just price this accordingly. Children need more throwback toys, simple stuff from a more simple time..but in this era we're offered cheap manufacturing, not true nostalgia.
