 Excellent blocksApr 10, 2010
Our boys have played with these for years. We bought when they were 2, and at 6, beat up and some crushed from being jumped upon, they are still going strong. They still build mega-building with them for their lego and playmobil characters and toy armies. They'll last a few more years both in durability and in kid's interest level.

We bought these for my 1 yr old daughter (yes, I know they're for 2 and up) and she loves them. She can only stack 2-3 by herself, but still gets a kick out of knocking them down. Even better is that we (her parents) love to play with them, too, so playing with the bricks turns into a family game, which is even better.
The bricks are very durable, classic Melissa & Doug workmanship. We love the bright colors and sturdy build. They were a little difficult to fold together, but only because I have small hands. The instructions didn't make sense at first, but once I tried putting one brick together while reading them, it became clear what I was supposed to do. These bricks were definitely a good buy for our family!

These blocks are wonderful. My 2 yr old nephew loves these blocks, as do his cousins and his dad! They're very sturdy and well worth the money.

As as a retired teacher I have seen toy fads come and go, but these blocks stand the test of time. The identical product has been used in preschool and primary classrooms for years. Children can stand on them as well as build structures to walk through. We purchased two sets for our grandchildren and they always return to them. We give them as gifts and the best part is that they need no batteries...just imagination.

I was skeptical when I bought these blocks and thought they might be flimsy as they are made of cardboard. But I gave them a chance and I'm so glad I did. These blocks are WAY more durable than I expected- my son is super rough with them and they show almost no sign of wear six months of regular play later. He has repeatedly stepped/ stood/ sat on these blocks and they hold their shape amazingly well.
In addition to being durable, they are also lightweight so that if a tall tower falls, no one will get hurt.
I definitely recommend these to anyone who is looking for a durable yet safe toy to provide hours of great imaginative play.
