Familiar characters, great variety of concepts to learnSep 10, 2005
By snoopygirl I'm so glad they did this book. I got it for my younger ds for his 3rd birthday. The My First Leap Pad actually belonged to my older ds (now 5 yrs old). My 3-yo really needed a Leap pad book of his own, and I've been disappointed with the lack of recognizable characters for the books. Sorry, but at this age, my boys do better when their activities have familiar subjects and characters. Their favorite books in the Leap Pad series are Jay Jay and Thomas. They don't even bother with the Leap character books.
Anyway, on to the Wiggles. What's great is that the Wiggles and friends (Captain Feathersword, Henry the Octopus, Dorothy the Dinosaur, and Wags the Dog) lend their voices and clips from Wiggles songs. The variety of songs is great--some older like C'est Wags and Move Your Arms Like Henry, and some newer like Let's Spend a Day at the Beach. Kevin got so excited to hear their voices and control what songs he wanted to hear.
What I like is the great variety in learning concepts, some which are more challenging than the other MFLP books. It includes a page on music where you touch a note, and they tell you what the note is (A-flat for example). on another page, You go to the supermarket to get fruit, weigh it, and choose the correct amount of money to pay. You can help drive the Big Red Car around town by following a map. And on another page, you have to guess what kind of snack Captain Feathersword is looking for, after they give you hints (like color, location on a shelf, wether it's a fruit or vegetable).
Now even my older ds has become interested in the MFLP again because he sees his brother having a great time with this book.

a new book for leap at lastFeb 06, 2005
By Deborah Harding my 3 year old son is a great fan of wiggles was delighted to see this had been added to leap library as they have so few first leappad books that toddlers can relate to. the voices are realistic and the songs are mainly new ones which is a nice surprise the activities as expected by wiggles and leappad standards are great well worth the buy. just wish that leap would do more books like this.

My 3 1/2 year old son got this for Christmas. He absolutely loves the Wiggles so he LOVES this game. It has tons of activities of learning that are excellent for his age---even younger. I highly recommend it for any Wiggles lovers.

Not EngagingNov 05, 2009
By krabappel I got the My First LeapPad and several books, including The Wiggles one, for my daughter, who was 2-going-on-3 at the time. She really had no interest in it. Maybe it wasn't appropriate for her age level? Who knows. But she still has no interest in it, and I'm just waiting for the next garage sale in my neighborhood so I can sell the whole thing. There's nothing inherently wrong with it. It works fine. It just doesn't spark with my kids, and I am not going to enforce MANDATORY FUN rules.
