Not that impressiveNov 14, 2008 My son got this as a Christmas gift when he was three and a half years of age. The games were too easy to master and there are not enough of them. The games that can be purchased to go with it do not increase in difficulty. I would not recommend this for any preschooler. This will not keep their attention for very long and the games are expensive for the length of time they would be able to use them. I returned mine back to Amazon. I hope you all have better luck with yours then we did.
Great educational/fun toyNov 10, 2008 We were amazed at how fast our 4 yr old grasped mouse concepts! This is an excellant start for her future "keyboarding".

Happy with PurchaseNov 08, 2008 Bought this unit specifically due to reviews on Amazon and was not disappointed. Easy to set up (I highly recommend the AC adapter for the base unit). The only difficulty we found was that game cartridges require a bit more force to seat completely down into the base unit than you would think.
Nice that the keyboard has a mount for both left and right handed kids.
My son is 4 and still finds the Level 2 setting fun to play. We bought Dora (Good) and Thomas (fair). Will probably buy more cartridges.
Happy and would buy again!
Great concept, poor executionNov 03, 2008 The educational value of this toy is great for a toddler. However, the engineering execution is very poor. It only connects with one composite video cable. The picture on the larger LCDs is horrendous.
Moreover, unless you have receiver pointing directly at the keyboard, the mouse will loose connectivity, as the low-frequency sensors loose conectivity if the keyboard is below or above the main unit, making it almost impossible to use if the unit sits on the shelf below/above where your child is sitting...
I mean in the age of the HDTV, how can Leapfrog provde a single composite connection to HDTV, where a child needs to struggle to make out the picture!?!?!? As an engineer, i have to say SHAME for releasing low-aplified product with sub-par video. Otherwise, the company makes the best, educational products, bar none...

Well designed toyOct 03, 2008 I must say that the toy is designed very well with tiny users in mind. The keyboard and mouse are very functional. Wireless design is really a plus, no messy cable lying on the floor. The whole thing is light enough. The included games are all right, they can keep my 3 yr old interested for about 15 minutes.
The mouse cable could be improved so that the mouse would be more stable on the pad with the cable side up. It often turns around causing problem for not-so-experienced users. The real issue is the availability of games. Right now there is choice but not a lot. I hope Leapfrog opens up game development so that independent parties can develop educational and fun games.
