 Finally found a Tree Swing!Aug 11, 2006

It was not easy to find a swing for a tree for a 3-4 year old! It took me a lot of searching to find this swing, so even though it wasn't long enough, we rigged more strong rope to the top and got it to work.
It is a nice design and works fine. It was fairly easy to set up to use and it is pretty. Once the swing is attached to the tree, you can adujust the length with the rope that goes througth the lady bugs at the side.
We didn't want to get a whole swing set, so it was very hard to find just a wooden swing ( on the net and in stores) so we decided to buy it since making one would have cost about the same and taken a lot more time!
I recommend this for ages 3 and up. It's a great way to swing from the tree...stay low or go really high! Nothing beats a swing in the shade! -Suzanne

This is a very nice swing and our 6 year old granddaughter loves it. There was a small problem when it first arrived where the bottom layer of the laminated seat had warped and separated from the other layers. It was simple to repair. The swing will require a few coats of polyurethane in order to weather well, also. Overall we are very pleased with it.

Its cute but...Jan 21, 2008

My problems with the actual product are 1. it only took a couple of years of light use before the ropes frayed, 2. the ropes give alot when you sit down, and 3. its a bit tippy. The seat is still in great condition. I do not recommend this as a first "big kid" swing once your toddler is ready to advance, its just to tippy. Now after getting my daughter past the fear of nearly falling off it, it was a great tool to teach her balance.

I bought this for my 4 year old granddaughter, who was very excited to have a swing in the back yard. It soon turned to disappointment. The ropes continually slid down to the longest adjustment and could not be adjusted to the desired height. We spent alot of time fiddling around at the tree limb to get it the right height, but the ropes seemd to stretch no matter what we did. The seat dumped her on the ground one to many times- flat on her back and almost striking her head. It now sits in my shed. She is not an uncoordinated child.

Poorly constructed swingNov 28, 2008

We first purchased this swing in April 07 for our granddaughter. We had a nice oak limb to hang it from
and even drilled eye bolts into the tree (rather than tie
the ropes around the limb). Our grandaughter loves the swing. There is one major construction flaw. The seat
is made from pressed board which peels apart very quickly.
I called the manufacturer the first time it happened and was told they had gotten a defective batch. They replaced the seat at no charge and the same thing happened again. Also, the rope supplied eventually rubs off (green) on one's hands and the wooden ladybugs split apart. So, we've now replaced the seat with one we made from good lumber and replaced the ropes with ones made from polypropylene. All that's left of the original product is the two metal hooks. If you are thinking of purchasing this swing, I highly recommend you make your
own and avoid the hassle.
