Great idea but not worth $20Mar 16, 2007
By Janet Gerber PLUS: It's a great idea. It keeps my 4-yr old busy, and it helps develop her skills in art, counting, pattern recognition, and fine-motor.
MINUS: $20 feels outrageously overpriced. They should have included more than TWO plastic cards so we could have more projects going (what do those cost, 1 cent?) Also it would have been good to have a way to snap the plastic card over the pattern so that it doesn't slide around. The lego pieces are extremely difficult to remove from the plastic card when it's time to disassemble. I bought the large set but it still feels very small. It would be great if they could develop a larger sized version of this, with larger pieces as well, for little hands.

Wonderful item from LegoJan 17, 2007
By Toodles I bought this for my four year old daughter. She loves this Lego kit. As I do too. We enjoy putting the designs together as well as making up our own designs. Her quote is "that is cool." I bought her both sets, the larger and smaller one. Keeps her busy for a hour or couple hours, making and pulling it apart! Great idea from Lego. Haven't used the coupler to hang the item up because as soon as she makes one she wants to pull it apart to make a different one. Would be nice if they would come out with an additional lego piece kit so that you could make more designs at once since they give out limited number of each color in the kit, of course. Well worth the $30 I spent on both kits.

Like the set...Jul 24, 2007
By R. Moody My son likes this set, but uses the pieces more to build with along with the rest of his legos than anything. I don't regret buying it at all because the smaller pieces seem to really come in handy for him, as well as having the two flat pieces. Once in a while he will use them to make the pictures, mostly when myself or his father play along with him. Overall, not bad, just that the use we get out of them isn't exactly what was intended.

Fun but could use some tweakingMar 03, 2008
By Bookphile I'm more or less on a mission to interest my daughter in anything other than Bratz dolls and ideally in things that are more educational so this toy seemed like a natural choice when I was shopping for birthday and Christmas presents for her. It was a good choice but it could also use a bit of tweaking.
My biggest complaint about it is that there is no way to attach the diagram to the transparent base. My 4-year-old daughter likes the set and enjoys making the mosaics but she usually needs either my husband or I to work on it with her so that we can hold the diagram in place under the base. This to me is not an ideal situation because it makes it harder for her to enjoy some independent play. She also has some difficulty at times because the pieces are so small that they are a little difficult for her to handle. Disassembly requires adult help as it's a bit difficult to tear the mosaics apart.
Still, this is a fun toy with which we all enjoy playing and it was a nice introduction to Legos for my daughter.

Fun for my 4 year oldAug 25, 2008
By J. Mon This is a fun and educational toy for my 4 year old. This what I saw with her playing with it: 1. She learned to following simple instructions from a manual. 2. She picked up more motor skill on handling the little pieces. 3. She learned faster pattern matching techniques.
The only negative thing I would say about this product is that it does not give you enough pieces to complete two art works (illustrated in the manual). If you finished one, you may have to take pieces from it to complete the second one.
