"Book Person"
This is an immensely charming young dragon. In my house, his name is Periwinkle and, other than at Christmas, he brings and hides toys for grandchildren (and he is good at his job). He lives with me, not them, and because of the stories we weave around him, he is more icon than toy. With his happy face, shiny (floppy)wings and soft body, we can come up with a lot of stories. I'm sure he could have other duties in other homes, but he is a major character in my house.

This dragon is stunning. I have yet to see a photo which accurately captures the vibrant, silky coloring. The body of the dragon is made of a velvety fabric, which just shimmers with color. The jade blue is brilliant and has that magical quality fantasy creatures evoke in our imaginations. I have actually purchased all of the dragons in this collection, there is a Ruby Dragon, a Topaz Dragon and one called the Flashing Sword Dragon. They all have royal coloring, irridescent "foil" type fabric on the wings and really nice quality stitching. Though they are plush toys, I've positioned them for display as one might a dragon figurine collection. But I'm sure they would be just as loved as a child's toy, because the fabrics are so touchable.

My daughter loves dragons so we had to get this. She has several but the Melissa and Doug Dragons are the prettiest by far. Good size too, bigger than all her others.

I recently bought this toy for my daughter. She was really into dragons at the time and she thought this one was a really gorgeous looking dragon to add to her family of stuffed animals. She has seen it's cousins the Ruby and Gold ones first hand being displayed. She was not quite sure at first that this was the one she wanted but when it came she said it looked much more beautiful than the others. I was extra satisfied when the item came a week early. My daughter loves to take the dragon places with her and loves to play with it too. The toy has durable stitching but is not quite as good as some other toys. I would not recommend this toy for really young children. It has a deep turquoise color and the front side of the wings are dark blue with silver sparkles and the back side is a leathery gray material. It is also very soft. But I must say the pictures just don't capture the vibrant colors very well. I would recommend this toy to any child who treats their toys kindly and has a love for dragons!!!=)
