Really helpful companion to Wedgits but...Mar 28, 2011
By Crestviewer I debated whether or not to order these cards to go with the our Deluxe Wedgits set because I could not tell if they would be helpful for kids as a companion to the Wedgits or not. After receiving them and having a 3, 4, 6 and 8 year old play with them, I would definitely say they are nice to have and worth the money.
Here is what the 48 cards include: - 1 Cover Card with brief overview on back - 2 Tips and Techniques Cards (How to Anchor Wedgits, How to Lock Wedgits together) - 5 Cards Showing the 5 different pieces and their names (ex. picture of green block with "small rhombus" underneath it) - 40 design cards divided into four levels (10 in each level - Level A has the most basic designs and Level D has the most complex designs). Each of the design cards has a colored picture on the front and then on the back is a black and white picture of the same structure with a breakdown of the pieces that are involved. There is no step by step instructions on the cards and so sometimes pieces can be hidden in the picture (especially those little white ones a.k.a. octahedrons)
What I like about the cards: - Even my 3 year old can sit, look at a card and build from it. It gives her ideas and instructions on how to use the Wedgits. - I like how the cards are separated into levels by difficulty and then numbered 1-10. This system allowed the children to say I completed B-6 now I am going to do B-7, etc.
What I did not like: - I was a little disappointed that 8 of the 48 cards did not even include designs. The product description seems a bit misleading to me. - I wish the cards were printed on cardstock or a thicker paper. Because these will get a lot of use, I want them to last and the thin paper bends easily. - That I had to purchase these in addition to the Wedgits. I think these designs should be included with the building sets.

These cards challenge you to build different designs with Wedgits (you need to buy the Wedgit blocks separately). Wedgits are rhombus shaped building blocks - amazing building possibilities! These are not your grandmother's blocks. You will need at least 2 sets of Wedgits to build the designs on the cards. Challenge yourself and your children with the Wedgit cards - enjoy!

Great for Many AgesDec 12, 2008
By K. Groh We have the Wedgits to Go set. My 4 year old (girl) and 9 year old (boy) both play with it. Sometimes they just make up their own stuff but many times they follow these cards. The cards are broken down into skill levels. As they move to the advanced levels, they can get really hard since some of the pieces needed are hidden behind other pieces in the photo. My children really enjoy them and they are a great compliment to the Wedgits sets.

Challenging cards!Jan 25, 2011
By Tutu NS Liked that the cards showed designs in increasing steps of difficulty; however, it was difficult to see some of the design details on the sides or back, especially on the advanced designs. My grandson was engaged immediately with the cards and started building the designs starting from simple to advanced. He liked the challenge of trying to replicate the more complicated designs even though he was also frustrated when he couldn't see more details of the designs which were hidden within the design or in the side or back. I punched holes in the corners of the cards and put them on a ring to keep them together in order if difficulty.

Wedgits are just plain fun. The cards only add a challenging aspect to the wedgits. We really like the whole set at our house.
