Good BuyDec 31, 2008 This toy was a hit for my infants, ages 13 months to 1 year. They love the animals, the sounds, lights and the spinning platform. I felt for the money it was well constructed with sturdy parts. The parts are all big enough not to have to worry about infants putting them in there mouths and becoming a hazard. My older children (2 yrs) loved to play with it also. For the money it was a good deal. I would recommend it to parents.
A decent toy for 6 months and upDec 13, 2008 I bought this for my daughter when she was 6 months old and learning to sit on her own. I figured it might encourage her for sit up play, but she would tip it over and use it in the tummy position till she was really good at sitting at her own. The little animals that come with it don't interest her as much as the base does. It keeps her busy for a good while however -- the colors, music, and lights attract her. She is now 8 months old, and still plays with it.
Great fun for those new to sitting up!Dec 07, 2008 My daughter (now 7 months) has been playing with this toy at daycare since she was about 4 months, as they'd sit her up assisted and play with it. They commented on how all the babies love this toy. I got her one for home at about 5 months, and she will play with it for at least 20 minutes at a time. She picks it up and turns it upside down to spin the wheel at the top and to spin the main wheel that the animals sit on. She doesn't really play with it with the animals yet, those are almost like a separate toy for her to teethe on. But she'll play with this sitting up on her own, or even laying on her belly on the floor. She's very intrigued by it. I look forward to getting her the zoo one like it for Christmas.
A Must-Have!Nov 03, 2008 My daughter got this at 6 months old and STILL likes playing with it at almost 12 months old. It teaches her cause and effect, and it also helps babies learn some fine motor skills as they spin the wheels, press buttons, open, and twist. I just leave it out in her play space, and she plays with it for at least a few minutes every day. Around 6-7 months, it was played with for over 30 minutes a day until she "figured it out" -- this is definitey a mommy must-have!
Fun farm toy!Sep 03, 2008 I bought this for my son last Christmas and he loves it!
There are a few functions he especially loves. The first thing he loves is the fact that the pig will oink over and over and squeal if he pushes it side to side. Good cause and effect education with that function. Same goes for the little carrots at the bottom. My son loves to push them over and over. It's repetitive but that's how children learn. It keeps his attention and that's a plus!
Good toy is you are trying to teach farm animals and their associated noises.
I wish the little animals that aren't attached did more or made the noises associated with them, but hey you can't have everything right?
Over all a wonderful toy for infants and toddlers.
