Creative, Open Ended Fun for All AgesNov 21, 2008

We are really loving this set of cards. Each depicts a setting, a character, an object typically found in fairy tales (Castle, Frog, Wedding Cake, Princess, Castle, Locked Door, Key, Witch, Stormy Clouds etc. 36 in all). A card detailing suggestions for how to play with and use the cards is also included. The illustrations are nicely detailed, colorful, and sugggestive of common fairy tale themes and stories. The lack of words makes it possible to invent any story imaginable.
We play a game where we deal a set of cards and have to make up a story based on the set. My 3 year old thinks this is very fun and is learning to weave the elements of narrative to make a compelling tale with us helping her connect the dots. She also likes to play on her own using the cards as play props for her imagination.
Instead of reading the same book every night, we can invent a new story with the same familiar characters. Very appealing. i plan to buy more of these sets.

Fun for the entire familyOct 08, 2009

Rarely can one find a game or toy made for the 3-year-old set that is equally stimulating for the parents. Well, here is one. These cards allow you and your child to explore your minds with creative story-telling, and what better way to bond than through creating a world of make-believe together! It's great fun for the adults too; I chuckle at what my husband comes up with. The entire family is wide-eyed and engaged as each person contributes their own thread of imagination into the weave of a totally original story. I am so impressed with the simplicity of this game and the complex varieties of stories we manage.
What is also nice is that the game travels quite well on airplane or train, and is a great way to get other family members on visits to engage with your child in a meaningful way.
It's creative, it's bonding, it develops skills (for me as well as my 3 1/2yo), and is a good way to pass time while waiting for food to be served or for the doctor visit.
This game will NOT bore the adult intellectually, and the child can sense the adult's engagement, making the overall experience a bit thrilling.

A Big Hit - Even More Than I Had HopedSep 03, 2009
By Renata In a world that is overly innundated with television, DVDs, video games, high tech, and high noise toys, these cards are a lovely respite... and they were an enormous hit with my somewhat over-indulged kids (sisters ages 4 and 5). (My kids have so many "high tech" toys that I was surpised how much they liked these simple cards.)
The cards are very nice quality (cardstock) and beautifully illustrated. They include interesting details that can really add to a story. Some of the themes are carried out through multiple cards (a princess, princess climbing down the castle wall, etc.) making it easy to tie them together with a story.
I was really surprised by how well my kids took to the cards. We made it a pre-bed activity to divide the cards between them and have them each invent a story. I also made it a game for them to take turns telling and adding to a single story. And they love when mom puts random cards together and invents something really wild.
The cards are a fun way to play together and jump start imaginations.

Imagination at its bestApr 02, 2009
By K. Livesay I love these cards and so does my 3 year old. After using the Fairy Tale cards for a few days I went out and bought the Mystery in the Forest and Robots cards. I love anything that has children really use their imagination and the cards are so flexible that my daughter can grow with them. Now we just have her pick any card to further the story. Mom and Dad make it more difficult and we deal ourselves 7 cards and make-up a story with just those cards. It keeps my 3 year-old engaged for 30 minutes at a time. Another plus is that the cards are small and are great for travel! I have told all my friends about them!

Wonderful Teaching Aid!Feb 04, 2010

Due to my husband losing his job, I recently decided to home school my preschool aged daughter to save money. I spent what I would have spent on one months worth of preschool tuition and bought a huge amount of teaching aids (all tax deductible, I might add). These made it into the mix and have been well worth it!!! They are fun, easy to use, and really inspire a kids creativity! In fact, I nanny and home school two of the kids along with my daughter and they both love these as well! There are several other eeBoo "Tell Me A Story" card lines that I may consider purchasing as well. The kids love picking cards and using the pictures to let their imaginations run wild as they tell stories! I love how it helps them flex their creative muscles and learn several other really useful skills during the day! By far, our "story time" is one of the favorites of the kids I teach and mine too, thanks to these cards!
