At Christmas, I bought my boys ages 4 and 6 the Big Tex Holster Set from Amazon. My boys love this toy and play with it all the time! Last month, I purchased another holster set as a birthday gift for a 4 year old. I meant to buy the same product as I bought my sons, but mistakenly bought the Doc Holliday Holster set. The holster and belt are identical in quality, but the gun does not compare at all!!!! It is lighter in weight and has silver paint that is peeling off before being taken out of the package. The Big Tex Holster set is of much better quality and I believe it may even be cheaper. Do not buy this product when you have the option to buy the Big Tex Holster Set.

"Tell Me a Story"
Last year pirates--this year Westerns. My youngest grandson was delighted with this replica revolver, and I was impressed with its craftsmanship and ease of operation. The breech opens smoothly--no smashed fingers or pinched palms for young hands. However, the card and this ad says it was made in Italy, but "Made in Spain" is stamped on the barrel. Either way, it's an exceptional toy that will provide many hours of fun for our littlest cowboy.

Bought for my son for Christmas. Was amazed at the weight and quality of it. I remember the cheapo ones I had as a kid. LOL. I suspect this will last him a long time. The only con is that I can't find the caps locally - gotta love amazon - you can get everything there. :)

Toy Gun for my SonDec 29, 2009
WOW, if you could only have seen my almost 5 y/o sons eyes on Christmas day when he opened this. Excitement oozed from every part of this boy's body. The holster has been a part of every wardrobe change from the minute he opened it, the only time dad said no was when we went to church on Sunday. I purchased this for his cowboy birthday party, but thought it would be fun for a Christmas present.
We did purchase the caps (12shot cap ring) from a local hunting store and were much cheaper ($1.99) then here on Amazon. The caps do have a dud every now and then. The gun is constructed well, has a nice weight to it, the scroll design adds a nice touch to the fact it is a western style 12 shooter.
All in all, this is a very nice toy gun for a child; I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in it for their child. We do instruct him not to point guns at people and how to be responsible for the up keep.
The reason I gave educational 5-stars is this is going to be the first of many gun purchases for him over the next several years and even though it's a toy, might as well teach him now what is right and wrong. Guns themselves don't kill, people who don't know how to use them or use the in appropriately kill.
