 No red paint in box, very strong odor, no disclosed ingredients.Oct 19, 2011

The set came with 2 greens and no red. The odor from these small plastic paint jars was overwhelming. The jars are too small to accommodate the Crayola toddler paint brushes that would go with this set. I am not very happy that Crayola will not disclose its ingredients other than saying it does not use Red #40 dye. May contain ingredients found in other Crayola paints such as: baking soda, citric acid, mannitol, polyethylene glycol used for its texture, sodium benzoate used as a preservative, mineral oil and various food colorings.
We will continue to look for paint by a company that discloses all its ingredients.

I bought this for my 2 year old who loves to draw on her easel. I wanted to get a variety of colors, and test out the paint before buying the large containers available. The paint is great...washes right off. I have no fear that it would stain something. HOWEVER, this is not a value. I will be buying the large individual crayola paints for her going forward, like this one Crayola Artista II Washable Tempera Paint 16oz Blue

This boxed set of paint is a great starter set but will not last very long. I used it with my 21 month old and 1 month old to do a few craft projects for Valentine's day. I was a little nervous to use paint on the baby but this paint is non toxic and it washed right off leaving no staining on his hands or feet (we made hearts out of hands and feet) I have used other paints that left behind a stain of sort on my son's hands after being washed off but this paint did not do that at all. My 21 month old used the paint to finger paint on white computer paper and it worked well. I also dropped a few of the colors into a ziplock bag and tapped it to the window for mess free "finger painting" The paint did not dry out and the colors mixed well. I had it up for 2 weeks and it was just as good to use as the first day I put it up (it even froze overnight a few nights because it got so cold)
The only thing I don't like about this set is that the containers are small so I will have to buy more after just a few uses of each color. It is good for someone who doesn't think they will use it much or as a starter set for a young toddler. We have had it for a couple months and they haven't dried out at all like some paints do which is good.
