 Pirate bandanas, but very very thin materialMay 20, 2010

Low price for a whole package of pirate bandanas. But, the material is very, very thin - almost see through. As a party favor or the like for a little kid's party these are OK. If you want a more substantial bandana, spend a little more money.

I got these as actual do-rags for my husband, and it turns out they are rather flimsy for that purpose. They're too thin to use as actual handkerchiefs, and after washing, they shrink down too small to use as bandannas.
There are 4 each of 3 different patterns, so I may iron them all flat and sew all 4 together to make one giant bandanna, which he can wrap around his head.
As a kids' birthday party give-away, these would probably work out very well. (Arrrr!)

Based on previous reviews, I expected these bandanas to be see-through. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package and found a fair quality bandana for the price. I was even able to make one into a skirt for my 18 month old daughter. It needed to be lined, but it held up fine in the wash. These bandanas were a hit at my 4 yr old son's birthday party and they survived to be used again another time.

My son had a pirate themed birthday and we required anyone who wanted cupcakes to be a 'pirate'... They worked great for this - although, they are rather thin and probably won't survive a cycle through the wash. Good one-time use item.
